- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper (or to taste)
- 1 to 1 1/2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts (diced into 1-inch pieces)
- 1 teaspoon olive oil for coating air fryer basket
- Green onions (thinly sliced, optional for garnishing)
- Toasted sesame seeds (optional for garnishing)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix teriyaki sauce, olive oil, light brown sugar, garlic powder, ginger, salt, and pepper to create a marinade.
- Add diced chicken to the marinade, stir to coat, cover, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to 6-8 hours.
- Coat the air fryer basket with 1 teaspoon olive oil or cooking spray.
- Preheat air fryer to 385F if required. Cook at 380-390F for best results.
- Add chicken to the air fryer in a single layer and discard excess marinade.
- Air fry for 10 to 15 minutes, flipping once, until chicken reaches 165F. Cooking time varies based on chicken size and air fryer type.
- Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds, and serve immediately, preferably with rice.
