  3. Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. For best results, cover the dough and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  6. Once chilled, scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll them into balls. Place them on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges look firm but the centers are still soft.
