Description

Chocolate Chip Bread Pudding with Cream Sauce is a rich and comforting dessert, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups of day-old bread, cubed (French or challah works best)
  • 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups of whole milk
  • 1 cup of heavy cream
  • ¾ cup of granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon of salt
  • Optional: powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, place the cubed bread. Sprinkle the chocolate chips evenly over the bread.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until fully combined.
  4. Pour the custard mixture over the bread and chocolate chips. Gently stir to ensure that the bread absorbs the liquid evenly.
  5. Allow the mixture to sit for about 10-15 minutes to help the bread soak up the custard.
  6. Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the center is set.
  7. Remove the pudding from the oven and let it cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.
