Description
Chocolate Chip Bread Pudding with Cream Sauce is a rich and comforting dessert, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 6 cups of day-old bread, cubed (French or challah works best)
- 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 4 large eggs
- 2 cups of whole milk
- 1 cup of heavy cream
- ¾ cup of granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon of ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon of salt
- Optional: powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, place the cubed bread. Sprinkle the chocolate chips evenly over the bread.
- In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until fully combined.
- Pour the custard mixture over the bread and chocolate chips. Gently stir to ensure that the bread absorbs the liquid evenly.
- Allow the mixture to sit for about 10-15 minutes to help the bread soak up the custard.
- Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the center is set.
- Remove the pudding from the oven and let it cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.
