Description

Crispy Spicy Dragon Chicken is a flavorful dish that combines crispy fried chicken with a spicy sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 500 grams boneless chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon ginger powder
  • Oil for frying
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 12 green chilies, chopped (optional)
  • 23 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine chicken pieces with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and ginger powder. Let it marinate for about 10 minutes.
  2. Set up a breading station: In one bowl, place the flour. In another bowl, beat the eggs. In a third bowl, add the cornstarch.
  3. Dip each piece of marinated chicken first into the flour, then into the beaten eggs, and finally coat it in cornstarch.
  4. In a deep pan or fryer, heat oil over medium-high heat. You’ll need enough oil to submerge the chicken.
  5. Once the oil is hot, fry the chicken in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes per batch. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  6. In a separate pan, combine soy sauce, chili sauce, honey, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Cook over medium heat until well blended.
  7. If you like it spicy, add chopped green chilies to the sauce and simmer for an additional 2 minutes.
  8. Toss the fried chicken in the spicy sauce until well coated.
  9. Transfer the chicken to a serving dish and garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

  • Adjust the spice level by varying the amount of chili sauce and green chilies.
  • Serve with steamed rice or noodles for a complete meal.
