Description
A simple dog ice cream made with yogurt, banana, and peanut butter, perfect for warm days and soothing teething pups.
Ingredients
Scale
- 360 g (2 cups) plain full-fat yogurt or plain coconut yogurt
- 2 medium ripe bananas (about 240 g peeled)
- 60 g (4 tbsp) natural peanut butter, unsalted and xylitol-free
- 1 tsp (5 ml) pure vanilla extract (optional)
- 60–120 ml (1/4–1/2 cup) water or low-sodium chicken broth
- Optional: 60 g (1/2 cup) mashed cooked pumpkin (no spices) or pureed strawberries
Instructions
- Check ingredient safety and measure all ingredients.
- Add yogurt, bananas, peanut butter, and vanilla to a blender and pulse until smooth, about 20–30 seconds. Adjust thickness with water or broth if needed.
- Taste and adjust texture if necessary to ensure it’s pourable but not runny.
- Pour mixture into molds or a loaf pan, leaving space for expansion.
- Freeze for at least 2 hours, or until solid.
- Serve or store treats, thawing for 2–5 minutes before giving to your dog.
Notes
Ensure all ingredients are safe for dogs, specifically avoiding xylitol. Use ripe bananas for best results. Freeze portions in molds for easy serving.
