Experience a quick and flavorful dinner with this Garlic Chicken Gnocchi Skillet. Tender chicken and pillowy gnocchi are bathed in a rich, aromatic garlic sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 lb potato gnocchi
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup chicken broth
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp dried Italian herbs
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- Fresh basil leaves, for garnish
Instructions
- Cut 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts into 1-inch bite-sized pieces. In a bowl, toss chicken with 1 tablespoon olive oil, 1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
- Heat the remaining 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken pieces in a single layer and sear for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove chicken from skillet and set aside.
- Reduce heat to medium. Add 6 cloves minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté for about 1 minute, stirring constantly, until fragrant. Scrape up any browned bits from the pan to incorporate flavor.
- Add 1 lb potato gnocchi directly to the skillet. Sauté for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the gnocchi are lightly golden and slightly crisped.
- Pour in 1 cup chicken broth and 1 cup heavy cream. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, then reduce heat to low. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the gnocchi are tender and the sauce has thickened to your desired consistency.
- Stir in ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese until melted and fully incorporated into the creamy sauce. Gently fold the cooked chicken pieces back into the skillet and heat through.
- Taste and adjust seasonings as needed. Divide the Garlic Chicken Gnocchi Skillet among serving bowls. Garnish generously with fresh basil leaves and an extra sprinkle of grated Parmesan cheese before serving immediately.
