Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and brown sugar together until light and fluffy.
  4. Mix in the molasses, egg, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  6. Cover the dough and refrigerate for about 30 minutes to make it easier to handle.

  8. Roll each ball in powdered sugar until fully coated.

  11. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for about 10 minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
