Description
These delightful green-coated Grinch Oreo Balls bring festive fun and creamy flavor, topped with a cute red heart!
Ingredients
Scale
- 24 ounces Red Velvet Oreos (2 packages of 12 ounces, use any Oreo flavor if desired)
- 8 ounces cream cheese (softened to room temperature for easier mixing)
- 15 ounces light green candy melts (used for coating the truffles)
- Red candy hearts (for decoration)
Instructions
- Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Crush the Oreo cookies into fine crumbs using a food processor or blender, or place them in a zip-top bag and crush with a rolling pin.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and beat with an electric hand mixer on high speed until smooth and creamy.
- Add the Oreo crumbs to the cream cheese mixture and stir until well combined.
- Use a 1.5-inch cookie scoop to portion the mixture, then roll each portion into smooth balls with your hands. Place them onto the prepared baking tray.
- Refrigerate the Oreo balls for at least 2 hours to firm up before dipping.
- Reserve ½ cup of candy melts to drizzle later if desired.
- Melt the candy melts in a double boiler over low heat, stirring frequently until completely smooth and melted. Be cautious not to overheat.
- Using a fork or toothpick, dip each Oreo ball into the melted candy, tapping the fork to remove excess coating. Place the coated balls back on the baking sheet.
- If desired, drizzle the remaining melted candy over the balls and immediately top with a red candy heart while the coating is still soft.
- Place the Oreo balls back in the refrigerator to set completely.
