Hash Browns Breakfast Stacks: A Cozy Morning Delight!


Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 1 pound Sweet Italian sausage links
  • 1/4 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Dry mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon Kosher salt
  • 2 cups Whole milk
  • 1 package Simply Potatoes® Shredded Hash Browns
  • 4 large Whole eggs
  • 1 cup Cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Cook the crumbled sweet Italian sausage until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Stir in the flour and dry mustard. Gradually pour in the whole milk while stirring continuously. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer and let it thicken into a creamy gravy, about 5 minutes.
  3. Shape the Simply Potatoes® Shredded Hash Browns into discs using a cookie cutter. Heat a Panini press or frying pan over medium-high heat and cook the discs until crispy and golden brown, about 4-5 minutes per side.
  4. Scramble the whole eggs in a non-stick skillet with a splash of milk until fluffy and cooked to your preference.
  5. Assemble your stacks by layering the crispy hash brown discs with scrambled eggs and a generous portion of cheddar cheese. Top with the warm sausage gravy.
