Description

These Holiday Peanut Butter Crinkles are a festive and easy cookie perfect for any celebration. They feature a classic peanut butter cookie base with a signature crinkle top, making them a delightful addition to your holiday baking.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar, for rolling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract and peanut butter until well combined.
  4. In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Place the 1/4 cup granulated sugar in a shallow dish.
  7. Roll the dough into balls, about 1 inch in diameter.
  8. Roll each dough ball in the sugar until coated.
  9. Place the sugar-coated balls about 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheets.
  10. Using the bottom of a glass or your hand, gently flatten each ball slightly. Then, using a fork, press down in one direction and then the other to create a crisscross pattern.
  11. Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the centers are still slightly soft.
  12. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for 2-3 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • For a stronger peanut butter flavor, use natural peanut butter.
  • You can add chocolate chips or chopped peanuts to the dough for extra texture and flavor.
  • Ensure your butter is truly softened, not melted, for the best cookie texture.
