Ingredients

  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons hot sauce (adjust to taste)
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine chicken thighs and buttermilk. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. In another bowl, mix flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.
  3. In a large skillet, heat about ½ inch of vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
  4. Remove chicken from buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off. Dredge each thigh in the flour mixture until well coated.
  5. Carefully place the coated chicken thighs in the hot oil. Fry for about 7-8 minutes per side or until golden brown and cooked through.
  6. In a small saucepan, combine honey and hot sauce over low heat. Stir until smooth and well blended.
