- 2 large eggs

- 1 cup ground hazelnuts

- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate ganache or chocolate hazelnut spread (for filling)
- Chopped hazelnuts (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract until well combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, ground hazelnuts, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough, roll into balls, and place on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Use your thumb to create an indentation in the center of each ball.
- Bake for 15-18 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. Remove from the oven and immediately fill each thumbprint with chocolate ganache or hazelnut spread. Allow to cool on a wire rack.
