Description

A classic Italian lasagna with layers of rich meat sauce, creamy béchamel, and melted cheese.


Ingredients

  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions and set aside.
  3. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic, cooking until the onion is translucent.
  4. Add ground beef, season with oregano, salt, and pepper. Cook until browned.
  5. Stir in marinara sauce and simmer for 10 minutes.
  6. In a baking dish, spread a layer of meat sauce, followed by a layer of noodles, then ricotta cheese, and finally mozzarella.
  7. Repeat layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of meat sauce and mozzarella on top.
  8. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top.
  9. Bake for 45 minutes or until bubbly and golden brown.
  10. Let it sit for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, add fresh basil or spinach to the filling.
