Description

This Pecan Praline Crunch is the ultimate sweet and salty snack. Made with pecans, brown sugar, and crunchy cereal, it’s an easy Southern treat perfect for holidays, parties, or gifting.


Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 box Quaker Oatmeal Squares (Brown Sugar flavor)
  • 2 cups pecan halves

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 250 degrees F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cereal and pecans.
  3. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Stir in the brown sugar, cinnamon, and corn syrup until smooth and bubbling.
  4. Let it cook for about 2 minutes.
  5. Once it comes to a slow boil, add the baking soda and vanilla.
  6. Let it cook for about 1 minute.
  7. Pour the caramel mixture over the cereal and pecans, stirring until everything is well coated.
  8. Spread evenly over the prepared baking sheet.
  9. Bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
  10. Allow to cool completely before breaking into clusters.
  11. Store in an airtight container.

Notes

  • Add pretzels for extra salty crunch.
  • Mix in M&M’s, white chocolate chips, or toffee bits after baking for a fun twist.
  • Almonds or cashews can be used instead of pecans.
