- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup peppermint chocolate kisses (plus extra for topping)
- Crushed candy canes or peppermint candies (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the peppermint chocolate kisses gently into the dough.
- Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set.
- Remove the cookies from the oven and immediately press a peppermint kiss into the center of each cookie. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes.
- Transfer the cookies to a wire rack to cool completely.
