- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 tablespoon hot sauce (optional)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper

- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
- Vegetable oil (for frying)
- 4 burger buns
- Dill pickles (slices)
- Mayonnaise (to taste)
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine buttermilk and hot sauce. Add chicken breasts and marinate for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator.
- In another bowl, mix flour, paprika, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper.
- In a deep skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- Remove chicken from the buttermilk and let any excess drip off. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture, ensuring it is fully coated.
- Carefully place chicken in the hot oil. Fry for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. Use a meat thermometer to ensure an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
- Remove chicken and let it drain on a paper towel-lined plate to absorb excess oil.
- While the chicken is draining, toast the burger buns lightly in the leftover oil or on a pan to achieve a crispy texture.
- Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun. Place a piece of fried chicken on top, add dill pickle slices, and cover with the top half of the bun.
- Serve the sandwiches hot, with your favorite sides.
