Description
Easy Homemade Pumpkin Butter with Apples for Cozy Mornings: An Amazing Ultimate Recipe
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups pumpkin puree (fresh or canned)
- 1 cup peeled and diced apples (about 2 medium apples)
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup apple cider
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon allspice
- 1/4 teaspoon ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions
- Peel and dice the apples into small pieces. Set aside.
- In a large saucepan, mix together the pumpkin puree, diced apples, brown sugar, apple cider, and spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, ginger, and salt).
- Place the saucepan over medium heat. Stir the mixture occasionally to prevent sticking.
- Once the mixture starts to bubble, reduce the heat to low. Let it simmer for about 45 minutes to 1 hour. Stir occasionally to ensure even cooking.
- The pumpkin butter is ready when it has thickened and the apples are soft. If it’s still too runny, continue cooking for an additional 10 minutes.
- Once the desired thickness is achieved, stir in the lemon juice to enhance the flavor.
- Remove the saucepan from heat and let the pumpkin butter cool for at least 30 minutes.
- Transfer the pumpkin butter to sterilized jars. Seal tightly and store in the refrigerator. It can last for up to two weeks.
